[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]octor Who’s 50th anniversary special, known as the Day of the Doctor, was a major event for Doctor Who fans everywhere. Some could even argue that it was the best Doctor Who episode ever.
With an all-star cast that included David Tennant, Matt Smith, John Hurt, Peter Capaldi, and Billie Piper, it was a Doctor Who episode that will be forever remembered. Unfortunately, it was also the last time that we will ever see the four Doctors together. Or is it?
The tenth, eleventh and twelfth Doctors are returning for a five-issue comic book event! The five-issue comic books will be written by veteran Doctor Who scribe Paul Cornell and will feature art by Neil Edwards.
The comic books will pick up where each Doctor’s respective story line in the series previously ended. The official press release for the comic says that there will be only three Doctors, but according to the cover, there will be four Doctors.
The five-issue comic book event was announced this past February and will begin on Wednesday August 12th, just days ahead of Doctor Who Comics Day, which begins on Saturday August 15.
If you are a fan of the Doctor Who series and you didn’t know that it had a comic book series as well, you really shouldn’t be that surprised. After all, Doctor Who really is bigger on the inside.
The first issue releases Wednesday August 12.
