A new game mode for Star Wars Battlefront known as Supremacy mode, will utilize some of the video game’s best features.

[toggler title=”TL;DR” ]The new Star Wars Battlefront game will possess a new game mode known as Supremacy mode that will be similar to that of Battlefield’s Conquest mode. Supremacy mode utilizes the game’s largest maps and allows users to play as heroes, villains, and control almost all of the game’s vehicle options. [/toggler]

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the release of DICE’s upcoming Star Wars Battlefront video game approaching, EA revealed another new feature that the game will possess. The new Battlefront game will now sport a brand new game mode known as Supremacy mode. Similar to that of Domination in Call of Duty or Conquest in the Battlefield series, players will battle for the control of different points on the map that will gain the team points.

Unlike Conquest or Domination, Supremacy brings a little more of a strategic element to the capturing of points on the map. Each team starts off with two control points and must battle for a neutral one in the middle. Once the middle point has been recovered by a team, they may advance onto other points controlled by the opponent. However, only two points on the map will be active at a given time which eliminates the possibility of opponents sneaking into your back line to take your farthest control point(you know we all hate those kind of people). The goal of the match is to either control all five control points or maintain control of the majority of the points after a ten minute period.

Maps used for Supremacy mode will be the largest maps that the game will offer. Given that only certain points will be able to be captured at certain times, DICE game producers made it so spawn points will only occur near the action. This was done in an effort to make sure players are very rarely isolated from battle as well as eliminate the large number of camping noobs that sit in the back lines. Level designer Dennis Brännvall claimed that “players not playing the objective and camping on a hill somewhere will be a rare sight.” Call of Duty should take some notes here.

Along with utilizing the largest maps to offer, Supremacy mode will also allow users to utilize “almost all” vehicles available as well as the game’s heroes and villains. Vehicles will range from AT-AT walkers to X-wings and the hero/villain option will let you control players like Luke Skywalker, Darth Varder, Boba Fett, and many others.

The game is looking to have a number of great multiplayer options for players including the new Supremacy mode and its Blast mode as well. It will include a co-op mode, but not a single player campaign because EA COO Peter Moore claimed that “very few people actually play the single-player on these games.” Battlefront is expected to release for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 17th.
