[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]eth Rogen is reteaming with Zac Efron for a follow-up to their successful comedy Neighbors that was released last Summer.
Universal is moving forward with the sequel that will reunite all the major players from the first film including Rogen, Efron, and Rose Byrne. Nicholas Stoller is also set to return to the director’s chair.
A Neighbors 2 was pretty much a no-brainer for Universal. The film cost only $18 million to make, and raked in $268 million worldwide. The studio is reporting that they are aiming for a Neighbors 2 release on May 13, 2016.
Neighbors was written by Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, and revolved around a couple with a new baby who are forced to live next to a wild fraternity house. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
Cohen and O’Brien are returning to pen the sequel, which is said to have a female twist. This time, a sorority moves in next door to the couple, who then enlist their former nemeses from the frat to due battle with the sorority sisters. Oh brother.
Neighbors 2 is scheduled to begin shooting this Summer.
