When Revoltech dropped their first Amazing Yamaguchi Batman Beyond figure, fans of the animated series were left scratching their heads. Instead of delivering the sleek, futuristic design that defined Terry McGinnis’s tenure under the cowl, what they got was an unrecognizable, avant-garde artistic reimagining that had next to nothing in common with the source material, save for the color scheme.

Some people were divided on it. Many were straight up let down. Myself included. In fact, the design was so far removed from the source material, when I first looked at the original figure, I had to double-check that it was actually Batman Beyond. Naturally, my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

For context, this was the disappointing and confusing Batman Beyond design that Revoltech delivered some time ago:

Yeah, we know.

But Japanese manufacturer Kaiyodo, the company directly behind the Revoltech line, apparently heard the complaints loud and clear, because they just announced on their official Twitter account (now X) that a new Amazing Yamaguchi Batman Beyond is in the works.

And this time? It actually looks like Batman Beyond.

Translation:Reservation Starts Soon. Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi welcomes Batman Beyond Classic Ver.!! Stay tuned for more details!

Good god, we love it. It is perfect. We’re talking the classic animated series design. The all-black suit. The ears. The whole deal. Something that a fan of the show could look at and immediately recognize without having to be told what they’re looking at.

No pre-order date, no pricing details, nothing like that yet, Kaiyodo is keeping things close to the chest for now. But more information is expected to drop in the coming days or weeks, so keep your eyes on their social accounts if you want to be first in line.

It only took two tries, but hey, we’ll take it.
