Thee last month or so has been wild with leaks on the upcoming successor to the Nintendo Switch console. Part manufactures, industry insiders, and accessory makers were rampant with speculation, 3D renders, performance specifications, and everything in between. And now, after a curious silence, Nintendo has revealed that… pretty much everything we heard was true, lol.
Take a look below at what Nintendo is referring to as the ‘Switch 2’ in the first-look trailer for the anticipated console.
At the end of the trailer, Nintendo specifies that first, the console will run Switch games, in addition to Switch 2 exclusives. And second, the console will get a more elaborate introduction on April 2nd of this year, where Nintendo will hold one of it’s signature Directs.
For now, all we know is what it looks like, and what Nintendo is officially calling it- but we have no clue what the actual performance specs are. Some are saying it is as powerful as a PlayStation 4, others say its stronger and more in line with a PS4 Pro, while others scoff at the idea of such performance in a Nintendo handheld console all together. That said, everything we have heard turned out to be right on the money, so it’s definitely possible this device will be a heavy hitter in the console performance market. Only time will tell.
