Gibson may not return in the latest installment.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the fifth installment of the Transformers film series having been announced, there have also been a number of casting announcements, such as Josh Duhamel reprising his role from the original trilogy in the new movie. However, not all previous cast members were invited back to fulfill their roles just yet, as Tyrese Gibson is a little peeved he hasn’t been contacted. Gibson reached out to director Michael Bay about the role via video, to which Bay hasn’t responded.

Gibson played a man named Epps, a special ops soldier and partner to Duhamel’s Lennox, and we can just about imagine what Gibson is feeling, knowing Duhamel is returning for sure, but not him. So Gibson started bugging the director on social media to bring his character back in Transformers: The Last Knight, to which Michael responding with:

“I’m thinking.”

Cryptic, yes. Reassuring? Not really. But for now we’ll take it as a good sign his character at least has a chance of returning to the series. Maybe Michael Bay really is thinking of ways to fit him into the story, or maybe he just doesn’t want to be rude.

Would you like to see Epps return to Transformers? Let us know in the comments!
