In other words, Spider-Man: Homecoming should be a decent film.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the exception of the X-Men franchise, Sony has a pretty bad track record when it comes to producing movies that were originally owned by Marvel. Sure, The Amazing Spider-Man wasn’t that bad but The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was definitely a major let down and no one wants to remember that Fantastic Four ever existed. Luckily it appears that Sony has given creative control to Marvel.

In a recent interview with Hey U Guys, which can be viewed above, Kevin Feige answered some questions about the whereabouts of the Hulk, Thor and Nick Fury before being asked about Spider-Man and the relationship between the Marvel and Sony.

“Well, I’ve known all those people for a very long time. Amy Pascal, Tom Rothman, who runs Sony now, I’ve known for years. So, it’s been great. They really are supportive in allowing us to make the creative decisions to make [Spider-Man: Homecoming], but they’ve been great partners. So far so good on that movie.”

Under the deal that was made between Sony and Marvel, Marvel announced that “Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.” Keeping that in mind, it is important to point out that Kevin Feige said Sony is allowing Marvel to make the creative decisions. This means that Sony still has final say in what happens in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but Marvel is basically control of what happens in the film so that it ties in well with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whether or not Sony will step in and demand changes remains to be seen but one thing is certain, Spider-Man: Homecoming is going to be great film and Sony realizes that if they want to have a successful franchise with Spider-Man Marvel needs to be in charge.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7th, 2017.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
