Jurassic Park: Survival is shaping up to be the game every kid from 1993 secretly wished existed while pretending their backyard was Isla Nublar—minus the mosquito bites and potential mauling. Saber Interactive has been keeping things quieter than a raptor in the long grass, but they finally cracked open the dino egg and dropped a five-minute behind-the-scenes featurette. Inside? Glorious pre-alpha footage, teases about the setting, and the reveal of your new best friend/likely source of trauma: Dr. Maya Joshi, played by Payal Mistry. Take a look:

The game takes place literally one day after the events of Jurassic Park—you know, after Jeff Goldblum’s sexy shirt pose but before the lawsuits really got going. Unfortunately for Maya, she’s still stuck on Isla Nublar because John Hammond’s “spare no expense” apparently didn’t include evacuation plans for all staff. As an InGen scientist personally recruited by Hammond himself, she now has to dodge the park’s leftover residents: velociraptors, dilophosauruses, and the T-Rex, who’s probably still mad about the whole “banner falling in his face” incident.

The footage shows first-person survival horror gameplay, meaning you’ll experience the terror of hearing raptor claws on tile without any comforting third-person camera to warn you before they pounce. And while Saber hasn’t given a release date, Jurassic Park: Survival will eventually arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC—just in time for you to question every childhood fantasy you had about petting a dinosaur.

PS: And just in case you missed it, here is the announcement trailer:
