[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]ccording to Ken Lobb, creative director for Microsoft, there are plans in place to breath new life into Rare classics like Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark and even Battletoads. Yes, Battletoads.
Now that Microsoft owns Rare, can we finally expect updated versions of these childhood classics? (I’m going to go ahead and pretend Perfect Dark: Zero never happened.) “We know there’s value. We have a lot of passion internally for each of the games. And we have surprises in store in the near and long future,” said Lobb. “Will there ever be another Banjo, Viva, Blast Corps, Battletoads? Yeah, someday.” Let’s hope someday is sooner than later.” Someday soon, calling up Gamestop and asking to pre-order Battletoads could be a reality.
