In case your Fall 2025 wasn’t already overflowing with curses, quests, and anime protagonists drenched in trauma, HIDIVE just upped the ante by announcing My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I’m Out for Revenge!—a title so long it needed two separate press releases. Thankfully, it will now go by the much more digestible name My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha, which still sounds like a threat but at least won’t break your character limit.

Set to simulcast exclusively on HIDIVE this October in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand (basically everywhere that has Wi-Fi and anime fans), this fantasy-action-revenge-drama-magic-mashup is based on the cult-favorite light novel by Shisui Meikyo. And yes, it’s the one with the absurdly long original title that practically doubles as a synopsis. As part of the announcement, HIDIVE also dropped a fresh English-subtitled trailer, ensuring you can now understand every single time a character screams about gacha pulls and betrayal in crystal-clear clarity.

“We’re excited to add My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha to our Fall 2025 simulcasts,” said HIDIVE President John Ledford, in a statement that probably set off at least three marketing klaxons. “With its mix of fantasy, action, adventure, drama, revenge, and magic, this new series has something for everyone.” In other words, if you’ve ever rage-quit a mobile game or been betrayed by friends in a dungeon, this show is your oddly specific spiritual salve.

In the ancient days, God created nine races. Humans, being the narrative underdogs, were laughed out of the evolutionary talent show. Enter Light — a human kid who was so lucky he got invited into a multi-racial dream team called “The Assembly of the Races.” Naturally, they stabbed him in the back like a discount Game of Thrones episode and left him to rot in a hellhole called the “Abyss.”

Spoiler: He survived. Plot twist: His unique power is literally Unlimited Gacha. You know, the mechanic that usually eats your paycheck in mobile games? Light uses it to pull legendary items and allies like he’s got Jeff Bezos’ bank account and Satan’s patience. He’s done playing nice. He’s building his own empire, and this time, betrayal comes with a body count and premium loot.

Directed by Katsushi Sakurabi (Gundam Seed, Gungrave), scripted by Hiroshi Onogi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), and brought to life by the animation wizards over at J.C.Staff (One Punch Man Season 2, Food Wars!), this adaptation isn’t phoning it in. The main cast includes Nina Tamaki as Light (our angry gacha goblin), Ikumi Hasegawa as Mei, Hana Hishikawa as Nazuna, and Shiori Izawa as Aoyuki.

And in case you were wondering how legit this thing is — the original light novel has racked up 12 volumes since May 2021 under Hobby Japan’s HJ Novels imprint. That’s right, folks. This isn’t just another revenge fantasy — it’s a whole gacha-fueled religion.

If Overlord and Re:Zero had a baby who was raised on betrayal and loot boxes, it would be My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha. Come this fall, prepare to witness the world’s most OP underdog return from the depths to roll the dice on vengeance — and he’s not rerolling this time.

Check out the trailer now on HIDIVE’s YouTube channel — and maybe start emotionally preparing yourself. You’re going to need it.
