[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]om Hardy has been known to play many roles in his time as an actor. Earlier this year, he played as John Fitzgerald in The Revenant, while also having a role in Suicide Squad, which both will be released to theaters in 2016. But due to difficulties filming The Revenant, Hardy had to drop his role as Rick Flag in Suicide Squad.

The problems with The Revenant had to do with travelling across the globe, looking for places that had snow and it expanded the shooting schedule long enough for Hardy to have the make the difficult choice of leaving the Suicide Squad cast in order to complete the shooting for The Revenant. Was he disappointed about it?

“Was I bummed? Of course I was. I hate f*cking losing work. I kept bemoaning that they were losing me significant money on a daily basis. Actually, it was good for my character.”

When Variety asked Hardy about having to leave Suicide Squad because of extended with The Revenant, Hardy told them that he reminded everyone on The Revenant that he was losing money, due to the chaos from all the traveling that has taken place from shooting the movie.

When the original announcement was made that Hardy had left the Suicide Squad cast, some thought that he had beef with the writer and director David Ayers about the script. There was also concern about Hardy potentially having his role reduced in the movie.

But back in May while talking up Mad Max: Fury Road, Hardy said that he left Suicide Squad because of a scheduling conflict. Hardy told Collider that he had to stay in Calgary to shoot Suicide Squad, while The Revenant cast had to travel back and forth from Alaska and Patagonia. With the role as the main antagonist in The Revenant, you can’t blame Hardy for choosing that movie over Suicide Squad. You can see the updated trailer in the video down below!

Tom Hardy is currently promoting The Revenant, as it comes out on in less than a week. Playing opposite of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Hugh Glass, Hardy has been gaining equal amount of praise for his job as DiCaprio in The Revenant. But still thinks about what could’ve been with a role in Suicide Squad as well.

Hardy did go out of his way to pay tribute to Ayer’s script for Suicide Squad, as well as the cast’s villains. He even called Warner Bros. his “home studio.” This was a difficult decision for Hardy to choose which movie role he wanted. But, it doesn’t matter who we are. What matters is our plan.

The Revenant will be released on Friday, December 25th and Suicide Squad will not be released until August 6, 2016!
