The Pacific Rim star poses with Excalibur in new photos of the upcoming film.

Entertainment Weekly has recently dropped the first photos of Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim) as the legendary King Arthur in the upcoming film, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur. Check them out in the gallery below.

Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur stars Hunnam as the young titular protagonist, who has just pulled the fabled sword Excalibur from stone, giving him the right to be king. Arthur soon becomes the leader of a rebellion seeking to end the tyrannical rule of Vortigen (Jude Law), the man who murdered Arthur’s royal family.

The film co-stars Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, and Eric Bana, and will be directed by Guy Ritchie, best known for working on the Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur rides into theaters July 22, 2016.
