Final Trailer Released for First ‘Mockingjay’ Film

[dropcap size=small]L[/dropcap]ionsgate has released the final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, and it looks just as intense as we expected. Check it out below.

When we last saw Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire, she had just made it out of the Quarter Quell, which was the 75th anniversary of the first Hunger Games in which two remaining survivors from each District had to compete to survive. In the closing minutes of the film, she was en route to District 13 (which was thought to have been destroyed) and informed that her faux-love interest Peeta Mellark had been taken captive by the Capitol…oh, and District 12 had been completely annihilated.

So needless to say, Catching Fire ended on a down note. Mockingjay is the third and final book in The Hunger Games series, but it will be split into two films in order to keep most of its plot and action intact. Now Katniss is known as the Mockingjay, serving as the symbol of rebellion against the Capitol and ready to fight to overthrow Panem’s President Snow. And if you were unsure, Katniss is out for blood.

“I have a message for President Snow: If we burn, you burn with us.”

I would not want to be on the other end of that bow and arrow. May the odds be ever in your favor, President Snow.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 flies into theaters on November 21, 2014 with Part 2 to be released on November 20, 2015.
