“After 33 thrilling years of bringing you the latest news, reviews, and insights from the ever-evolving world of gaming, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Game Informer.

From the early days of pixelated adventures to today’s immersive virtual realms, we’ve been honored to share this incredible journey with you, our loyal readers. While our presses may stop, the passion for gaming that we’ve cultivated together will continue to live on.

Thank you for being part of our epic quest, and may your own gaming adventures never end.”

Owned by GameStop, Game Informer has faced significant challenges in recent years, reflecting the broader financial hardships affecting the video game journalism space. The struggle to maintain its position as both a physical and online magazine had become increasingly difficult. Despite these challenges, Game Informer will always be remembered for its commitment to excellence and its profound cultural impact on the gaming community.

Thank you for 33 incredible years of journalism. | Game Informer

Game Informer’s legacy is one of passion and dedication, having navigated through the various eras of gaming, from pixelated adventures to today’s stunningly realistic virtual worlds. The magazine’s ability to evolve and adapt, while maintaining its high standards of journalism, has earned it a revered place in the hearts of gamers everywhere.

As we bid farewell to this iconic publication, we celebrate the incredible journey it has shared with us. Game Informer’s contributions to the gaming industry will not be forgotten, and its influence will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of gamers and journalists alike.

Thank you, Game Informer, for 33 years of unforgettable stories, groundbreaking reviews, and for being a trusted companion on our gaming adventures. Your legacy will live on in the vibrant and ever-growing world of gaming.

I remember quite fondly growing up and receiving physical Game Informer magazines each month in the mail. As a kid, you don’t really get excited by the postman dropping things off but when you see a Game Informer magazine come in, there was nothing but excitement in my heart. If it were not for Game Informer, I would not have started Geek Outpost nor would I be covering the news myself (poorly by comparison, I might add).

To put it bluntly, this humble little blog site would not exist if it were not for Game Informer. Nor would my passion for gaming news and journalism, or perhaps even video games, be where it is today without them. Farewell, Game Informer. Thank you for enriching and changing my life. You will be missed. -Marc
