Techland finally reveals the details to their #DrinkForDLC package.

[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ack in September a Red Bull campaign was released for Destiny players who lived in North America. If you happened to be drinking a can of Red Bull with The Taken King written on the can there was a special code you could use to get bonus experience, new items or an epic new quest. Obviously this campaign was unfair to those of us who do not live in North America and many people were upset, including the game studio Techland.

In order to combat this campaign and give Activision the middle finger, Techland introduced its own campaign for players of Dying Light. All the players had to do was post a photo or video of themselves drinking water on Twitter with the hashtag #DrinkForDLC. Over 15 million people used the hashtag #DrinkForDLC and over 15,000 videos and photos were posted to Twitter with the hashtag.

Techland has now released the details of the free DLC for those players who participated in the #DrinkForDLC campaign. Here are the details:

  • The Fountain of Youth – all-new exploration-based quest available in the Old Town area.
  • Water 2.0 – blueprint for a new throwable weapon that intensifies the electrocution effect of all other weapons.
  • Water Challenges – two brand-new parkour challenges designed around the theme of water.

Dying Light: The Following and the #DrinkForDLC will be released on February 9th, 2016.
