“Adam Warlock.”
Everyone’s favorite bunch of A-holes will soon return with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, set to begin filming later this week.
Recently, director James Gunn held a Facebook Q&A, sharing all sorts of personal tidbits, but also, a number of things fans can look forward to in the upcoming film.
Live Q&A now Hi!

Cosmicbooknews has already condensed a lot of the Guardians Vol. 2 reveals from the Q&A, but below are the highlights we think are most interesting.
- Filming for Guardians Vol. 2 will begin this Thursday, February 11, in Atlanta, where Gunn filmed the Q&A.
- Unfortunately, The Collector (Benicio Del Toro) will not appear in Vol. 2.
- Yondu will play a bigger role in the sequel (he is rumored to be joining the Guardians team).
- Tyler Bates is set to score the film (he worked on the original), and Gunn believes Bates’ work on the sequel is some of his finest music.
- Gunn believes Chris Pratt has developed substantially as an actor since the first film, as well as the rest of the cast, and he can’t wait to see them work with the two new mystery characters featured in Vol. 2.
- Ronan, Lee Pace’s big blue villain from the first film, will not return.
- Gunn came up with the story for Vol. 2 while filming the first film, and he had developed the script in the time since.
- If Stan Lee is willing and able to appear in a cameo for the film, he will.
- He has already seen Captain America: Civil War (LUCKY), and he thinks it’s great.

- Gunn is open to directing Vol. 3, but is unsure yet due to his schedule.
- MCU big baddie Thanos will NOT appear in Vol. 2.
- The Infinity Stones will not be the main focus, or drive the plot, of Vol. 2.
- The sequel will introduce new members to the Guardians team (Mantis?).
- Speaking of which, Gunn talked on a new actress who will join the team, and he praised her as being incredible (so yeah…probably Pom Klementieff?).
- Nebula (Karen Gillan) will return of the sequel (she is also rumored to be joining the Guardians team).
- A fan asked Gunn to say “Adam Warlock,” which he did. Take that as you will.
- Beta Ray Bill was not a part of The Collector’s collection in the first film.
This Q&A has only made us more hyped for Vol. 2, and more jealous of Gunn…we want to see Civil War now too!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
