Tyler Perry and Brian Tee will be joining the cast of Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles got a CGI reboot back in 2014 by producer Michael Bay which earned a respectable $191 million domestically. This success all but guaranteed that Paramount would green light a sequel to bring Megan Fox back to the big screen as reporter April O’Neil.
Tyler Perry, known for his stand-out roles as a tall, angry black woman, will be joining the cast of the upcoming sequel as scientist Baxter Stockman. Yes, you read that correctly, Tyler Perry will be in the next TMNT movie. For those fans that just had a stroke, now would be a good time to press your life alert button.
If you were somehow able to read past that last bit without losing your mind then you will be pleased to know that Brian Tee has also joined the cast as the villainous Shredder. Tee is known for his previous roles in The Wolverine and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. This is uplifting news as Brian Tee has the both the look and acting credentials to make an excellent Shredder.
Other notable actors joining the TMNT sequel are Will Arnett reprising his role as Vern Fenwick and Stephen Amell who has been cast as hockey stick wielding Casey Jones. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is slated to hit theaters June 3, 2016.
