An Insane Destiny 2 Player Just Glitched Their Way into the Wrath of the Machine Raid

The skill it would take to access what remains of this raid is something many simply do not possess.

Some people spend their free time reading books, hiking, or maybe even talking to other human beings. And then there’s rei (@001PSD on YouTube), a Destiny 2 player who decided that “fun” means sword skating, sparrow flying, and grenade-jumping their way into Wrath of the Machine—a raid that technically doesn’t exist in Destiny 2. Yes, you read that right: this lunatic just broke into a deleted piece of content like they were breaking into an abandoned bank vault filled with unclaimed riches.

Check it out.

The video is so unhinged it feels like watching someone glitch into Narnia with a pogo stick and backpack full of grenades. The amount of sword swings, sparrow launches, and grenade hops required is almost breathtaking (assuming you are impressed by this sort of thing- and yes, we very much are impressed). And yet, somehow, through sheer god-tier execution, rei actually got inside Wrath of the Machine. Or, what remains of it, anyway.

Here’s the part where Bungie ruins your nostalgia with the energy of a DMV clerk. Wrath of the Machine isn’t likely ever coming back to Destiny 2. Why? Well, it’s either because the raid would set fire to the precarious system currently held together with duct tape and mint-flavored dental floss… or because Bungie already fired everyone who dared whisper, “Hey, what if we brought Wrath back?”

What you see in rei’s video isn’t a secret announcement or even a tease—it’s just leftover assets from the Plaguelands, recycled into Destiny 2 recent Ash & Iron “major update”. From a technical standpoint, actually removing the raid wholesale would take effort. So Bungie pulled the classic “just block it off and hope no one notices” move. Spoiler: rei noticed.

Most studios assume that when they lock content behind invisible walls, it’s “good enough.” But Destiny players treat boundaries the same way raccoons treat trash cans: as a personal challenge. What rei proved is that if you give fans a busted sword, a half-broken sparrow, and the patience of a saint, they will literally break into content the developers buried years ago.

Seriously, watch the video if you haven’t. It’s insane. It’s like seeing someone use a stapler, a banana peel, and three paperclips to hack into the Pentagon. And as if this wasn’t impressive enough, rei also managed to make it into Archon’s Forge.

Until meaningful change happens at the studio level, we have little interest in returning to Destiny or stepping into Marathon at all.
