Anime fans around the world were stunned today to hear the heartbreaking news that beloved Funimation voice actor Brice Armstrong, best known as the narrator for nearly every episode of the Dragon Ball (Z GT, too) franchise, passed away Monday (01/20/20) at the age of 84. He died of natural causes.
Brice Armstrong held a pinnacle position in our childhoods and in our hearts, specifically for Dragon Ball fans. I feel strongly that we should mark our calendars and celebrate Brice once a year as an unofficial holiday for his incredible work. https://t.co/RQlC9GVBRK

You would have recognized Armstrong not only as the narrator from nearly every episode of the Dragon Ball franchise (including GT) but also as Captain Ginyu and Lord Slug from Dragon Ball Z. Brice’s work goes far beyond Dragon Ball, with credits to his name from YuYu Hakusho, Lupin III, and many others.
Christopher Sabat (Vegeta, Yamcha, Piccolo, etc.) has worked with Armstrong for many, many years, and had this to say through his agency:
“Brice was the kindest, funniest person I’ve ever known. He was always humble, never in a bad mood–not the attitude you’d expect from such an industry legend.”
Brice, you will be missed.
