“Free Guy is my favorite movie I’ve ever made, and that means a lot to me because I made Deadpool.”
During Comic Con Experience – São Paulo, or CCXP as it’s referred, Ryan Reynolds had a presence where he surprised many by making this statement after the trailer dropped.
Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool, and he knows it. However, that hasn’t stopped the actor from focusing on other projects, including the upcoming ‘Free Guy’, which Reynolds says is his favorite movie he has ever made.
In Twentieth Century Fox’s epic adventure-comedy “Free Guy,” a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.
Directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, and Taika Waititi, Free Guy opens in U.S. theaters July 3, 2020.
Deadpool has had two movies to the name so far, but that isn’t the end. A Deadpool sequel or even an X-Force sequel are in the works, though they might be one singular movie instead of two separate ones. Even then, Deadpool will also have a presence in the greater MCU at some point, now that Disney/Marvel Studios has the rights to the character. Whether it be in a multi-verse event with Doctor Strange, or if they are just going to toss him right in there nonchalantly, fans will just be happy to see the merc with a mouth joining in on the fun. However, rumors are circulating that Deadpool may show up in another unexpected way…
Free Guy looks like a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to see it. Ryan Reynolds having a good time in an absurd action movie is all we really need to get ourselves in the seat and next Summer looks to be a great time at the movies.
