The Super FighterZ have arrived.
Bandai Namco has released another Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer, this time for the 2018 Jump Festa event (where the return of Yu Yu Hakusho was revealed!). Check it out below.
The trailer shows, as has come to be the norm, that FighterZ will allow theplayer to recreate some of the most memorable fights of Dragon Ball Z, including Super Saiyan Goku vs Freiza, Gohan vs Cell, and Goku vs Kid Buu. These fights are accompanied by beautiful cut scenes, so expect this to be a part, or at least a feature, of the game’s single player experience.
Also shown in the trailer was gameplay for the Dragon Ball Super characters Beerus, Hit, and Goku Black. We first see Lord Beerus, who is accompanied by Whis, summon a variety of energy spheres that descend on Goku ala their fight in Battle of the Gods. Next up is Hit, who uses his Time-Skip ability to pummel SSB Goku. Finally, we see the Goku Black, who fights in his Super Saiyan Rose form, beat up Future Trunks with his sick Violent Fierce God Slicer scythe technique, and throw down a ki blast with Zamasu. (Fun reminder that the Dragon Ball Super English dub just recently introduced us to Hit, so it’s going to be a little while before I completely figure out what exactly Goku Black is.)
Anyway, this was a very hype and flashy trailer that highlighted the new characters and set piece battles we’ve come to expect; but they just look so damn pretty here.
Wait there’s more!
Bandai Namco (via Polygon) also finally revealed the dates for FighterZ‘s open beta! The beta begins on January 14 at 3 a.m. ET, and ends on January 16 at 2:59 a.m. ET. If you’ve preordered the game, you have early access to the beta and start on January 13 at 3 a.m. ET. Set your alarm clocks for 3 a.m!
Also, the beta is only for PS4 and Xbox One owners. Sorry PC Master Race.
Are you excited for the beta? We sure are! We had a blast with the closed beta, so we can’t wait to hop back in and get some practice before the official launch…Which is almost only A MONTH AWAY.
Dragon Ball FighterZ releases January 26, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
