DC Comics superhero Firestorm will be part of The Flash TV series, which is set to make its debut this fall on The CW. Robbie Amell, who starred in the CW’s The Tomorrow People, has been cast as Ronnie Raymond (who is secretly the superhe…well, you get it).
Robbie Amell is actually the cousin of actor Stephen Amell, who plays the titular character of Green Arrow in Arrow, another series on The CW. For those who may be out of the loop, The Flash is a spinoff series of Arrow, and Green Arrow has been confirmed to appear in the series’ pilot episode. Could this be the beginning of a DC Comics universe for live-action television?
Firestorm first appeared in his own comic book titled Firestorm, The Nuclear Man in 1978. Since then, the superhero has teamed up with several members of the Justice League throughout comics and television shows, and most recently appeared in the animated movie “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths”, voiced by Cedric Yarbrough.
The Flash will premiere on October 7th, 2014 exclusively to the CW Network.
