[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter speculation and rumors Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 was confirmed by Warner Bros. They even confirmed that the game will be coming to Xbox and PS4 in 2017. You can watch the trailer below.

NetherRealm, the developer of the first Injustice, has returned to develop the sequel. Ed Boon from NetherRealm said in a statement that “Injustice 2 will change the way fans play fighting games”. Boon also said that they had been working to improve different areas from the first game, one of them being character customization.
Injustice 2 will look to build from the story of the first game, where Batman and his DC allies have to help restore balance after Superman put himself in control of Earth. So we may be able to get a Batman vs Superman fight after the movie left us wanting more. In addition to having to fight against Superman and his supporters, NetherRealm said that a “darker force” will be looking to threaten Earth. As to what the “darker force” was NetherRealm did not want to give away any spoilers.
Injustice 2 is set to offer the largest roster ever for a DC fighting game. Along with Batman and Superman some of the confirmed characters are Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Flash, and Gorilla Grood. A full roster may be available before the game launches so hopefully we will not have to wait too long to see who else will be in this behemoth.
Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 is scheduled for a 2017 release on PS4 and Xbox.
