Bad news Mass Effect fans, you won’t get to explore Andromeda this coming fall.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen mentioned in a conference call with the press that Mass Effect: Andromeda was scheduled for a “fourth quarter” release Mass Effect fans knew what no one wanted to admit, they would have to wait until next year for the game’s release. According to BioWare’s latest blog post, the company stated that Mass Effect: Andromeda will “ship in early 2017”. That’s not too far away, right?
“We’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction,” explained Aaryn Flynn, the General Manager of BioWare. “But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be — that’s our commitment from all of us to you.”
BioWare went on to say that Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s pushed back release date is due to the large size of the game, which allows gamers “an unprecedented level of freedom.” If that isn’t some sort of silver lining to this sad news at least we know that has BioWare confirmed an update for the game will be shown at EA’s E3 press conference on June 12th.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be running on EA’s Frostbite engine, the same engine that DICE used when they released Battlefield 4, which was widely praised for its stunning graphic. Mass Effect: Andromeda will deliver “visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done before in franchise history.” according to Aaryn Flynn.
Okay, BioWare, you better put your money where your mouth is come June 12th or you’re going to have a lot of upset fans to deal with.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released some time in early 2017.
