The Queen has been cast.
[dropcap size=small]C[/dropcap]onnie Nielsen has recently been cast as Wonder Woman’s mother, Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons, in the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. Connie Nielsen has previously been in Gladiator, The Following, and The Devil’s Advocate.
Nicole Kidman had been targeted for the part but scheduling conflicts with her HBO show Big Little Lies did not allow her to be apart of the film. Wonder Woman also stars Gal Godot as the Amazoness herself and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. The film is being directed by Patty Jenkins and is scheduled for a June 2017 release.
Wonder Woman will arrive in theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
