This Week at the Box Office

Hunger Games stayed on top this weekend but by a small margin.

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he fight for box office supremacy this past week was a good one. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 stayed on top for the week, being closely followed by In the Heart of the Sea, which had a great opening weekend grossing a little over $11 million. The Good Dinosaur, Creed, and Krampus all continued good runs, while crowds still flocked in to see Spectre and The Peanuts Movie, which have both been in theaters for 6 weeks.

Next week we have one of the biggest movies of the year coming out, The Force Awakens. Numbers should be crazy and it is expected for the movie to break some opening weekend records. Also hitting theaters next week are Sisters and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. It will be interesting to see how these movies will do going up against The Force Awakens for their opening weekends.
