If you’re a fan of the RPG genre and enjoy the challenge of controlling multiple characters with the swipe of a finger, then Battleheart is for you. Battleheart is grounded on solid gameplay with easily acquired controls, but flourishes when the player delves into different combat techniques and skill tree options. The basics of Battleheart include simultaneously controlling four characters and using their unique abilities to duke it out with waves of enemies. Beyond these basics you have the ability to recruit different characters, advance through their skill trees, and swap characters depending on the demands of a level. In addition, there are loot drops at the end of every fight, different weapons and items have the ability to buff your characters performance in battle. These items can also be purchased using gold earned from battle.
Battleheart gives the player a large amount of flexibility with dynamic skill trees. You’ve leveled your character and chosen a specific set of skills and those skills aren’t working out? Well you’re by no means married to them, you can go into the skill tree menu and hot swap some abilities for others depending on the needs of battle. Or what if you’re not happy with how your archer is performing in battle and want to sub her out for a tanker barbarian or knight, or maybe a cleric support? Not a problem. With a wide array of foes and a handful of mini bosses ranging from giant one eyed ogres to enormous green goo monsters, Battleheart is a pleasure to play with no shortage of enemies to slay. The art design in the game is enjoyable and animations are buttery smooth. Those of you looking for a story, this may not be for you. Battleheart leans solely on its combat mechanics, skill trees. and loot drops as motivation to continue plundering the battlefield.
