Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been confirmed to play the role of Lucy Lane, Lois Lane’s younger sister, in the upcoming CBS television series, Supergirl.
CBS’ upcoming show, Supergirl has confirmed its casting for the role of Lucy Lane. Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been set to play the DC Comics character. Dewan-Tatum has been previously a part of the hit show, Witches of East End, but this will be her first superhero performance.
The Lucy Lane character is the younger sister of Lois Lane, also known as Supergirl, who will be played by Melissa Benoist. Dewan-Tatum won’t make her first appearance in the show until the third episode. Her character is supposed to be pretty similar to that of Lois Lane, but she will also have an independent and successful story of her own. Lucy and Jimmy Olsen, played by Mehcad Brooks, are said to have an interesting past that will definitely be addressed in the TV series.
Dewan-Tatum has been previously casted on The Mindy Project and starred in Witches of East End. Her casting in the superhero TV show came shortly after her husband, Channing Tatum, received his lead role in the Gambit film. CBS is set to launch the show on Mondays starting October 26th, 2015 with some foreseen competition from Fox’s DC Comics television series, Gotham.
