Is Jaden Smith the strongest casting choice for Static Shock? We don’t think so.
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap] little late to the party, yes, but actor Tyler James Williams has confirmed, in an interview with Flicks And The City, that Jaden Smith will be playing Static Shock.
The question is how do we feel about it? I, particularly, don’t care for Jaden Smith. As a person, I feel like he’s trying too hard to stand out. While he is still young, I think we’ve all acted a bit bizarre in our teenage years.
As an actor, I think he’s sub-par. The same argument arises whenever I talk about Jaden Smith, I feel like he’s being carried by his father. Has he done anything, on his own, that has been worth a watch? His last good movie was The Pursuit of Happyness but, guess what? He co-starred to his father, Will Smith.
This is, of course, all my opinion. Who knows? I could be wrong. He might nail the role. However, what I’ve seen thus far, as an actor, Jaden Smith is mediocre at best. I think he was either cast based on looks alone, or dad made some phone calls. There are a lot of no-name actors who fit the bill.
