PS4’s with playable teaser for cancelled Silent Hills game are selling for big bucks on Ebay.
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter Konami announced that they were canceling the highly anticipated Silent Hills game, the playable teaser, or PT for short, skyrocketed in value. April 29th was the last day it was available for download on the Playstation Store and since then offers for consoles with the PT installed on it have been flooding onto Ebay.
Multiple auctions have popped up on Ebay from gamers looking to make some money due to the rarity of the PT. Two users from the UK are reportedly selling their consoles for around $1,500 as the buy now price. Another system, this time from an American user, had a starting bid of $1,000 and a buyout price of $1,800.
Silent Hills was revealed at Gamescom 2014 as a horror game called P.T. and then launched on the Playstation store shortly after without anyone knowing exactly what it was. Developer Hideo Kojima was working on the game with The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus and Pan’s Labyrinth and Pacific Rim director Guillermo delo Toro. Kojima said during a Gamescom live-stream that he wanted to make it so scary that the player would “need a new pair of pants.”
The cancellation of Silent Hills is only one of the stories surrounding game developer Konami. This announcement comes shortly after Kojima reported he was leaving the company after finishing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
