[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]here has been plenty of buzz surrounding Final Fantasy XV, and after a livestream of the game aired in Japan last week, the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, gave an update on the game’s status and released a 40-minute gameplay video.
Tabata revealed that the project is currently 60 percent complete and that it should not be much longer until it reaches 80 percent completion. He then added that the final 20 percent of the game should “fall into place in a relatively smooth and timely fashion.”
The gameplay video that was released is part of the upcoming Final Fantasy XV Episode Ducae demo, but Tabata stated that the demo will not be released in 1080p; however the game’s final product is to be released in 1080p. Check out the gameplay video below thanks to GamesHQMedia.

The demo will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 only for players who have purchased Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Late last year, Square Enix product marketing manager Scott Strichart announced that the company is “never going to release it as a standalone piece down the line,” so this is your only shot at the demo if you’re still debating.
