Wolverine 3 is definitely getting an R rating but no, it’s not because of the smashing success that Deadpool received.
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]hortly following the release of Deadpool in theaters rumors quickly began to circulate that Twentieth Century Fox was looking into pushing the next and final Wolverine film to get an R rating. After all, Deadpool did a fantastic job at the box office even though it had an R rating so why not have everyone’s favorite metal-clawed mutant get the same treatment?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, even before Deadpool was released it was widely assumed that Wolverine 3 was going to wind up receiving an R rating from the Motion Picture Association of America when the movie was finished with production. Apparently, in true Wolverine fashion, the script for Wolverine 3, which is being written by Michael Green, is filled with some pretty intense violence and obviously there will be some vulgar language.
The director of The Wolverine has returned to director The Wolverine 3 and the film is to be released on March 3rd, 2017.
