[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he sequel to the sci-fi action romp Independence Day is getting another original cast member to return.

Director Roland Emmerich took to Twitter to announce that Vivica A. Fox, who played  Will Smith’s wife in the original film, will be returning for Independence Day 2. She joins returning cast member Jeff Goldblum, plus series newcomers Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher. Will Smith has stated that he will not be returning for the sequel (he’s apparently busy making more box office bombs like After Earth).

Usher will be playing Fox’s grown son, who she was determined to protect in the original film. Hemsworth will be playing Bill Pullman’s son. While there has been no official announcement, Pullman is expected to return for Independence Day 2. You of course know Pullman for his inspirational speech as President Thomas J. Whitmore that shows up all over your social media every July 4th. Knock it off, people. We get it.

Independence Day 2 is set to hit theaters on June 24, 2016.
