The first official trailer for Venom 3, Save the Last Dance, has just dropped, and fans are buzzing with excitement. This installment is set to be the final chapter in Tom Hardy’s run as Eddie Brock, aka Venom, bringing an end to the actor’s symbiotic journey (supposedly- anything can happen across the Multiverse).

And while Hardy’s portrayal of the anti-hero has been a fan favorite since the beginning, this upcoming film promises to be his most action-packed and emotionally charged outing yet, with the inclusion of some radical new characters. Take a look:

In the trailer, we get to see symbiotes bonding with a wide range of hosts, including a fish and a horse (which is just awesome), pushing the creative boundaries of the franchise even further. However, it’s the reveal of Knull, the symbiote god and creator, that has truly electrified fans. Knull will allegedly be played by none other than Norman Reedus, widely known for his role as Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead. This casting choice has been met with widespread enthusiasm, as Reedus is expected to bring an intense and menacing edge to the villainous role. Seriously, how did we not know about this casting until now?

For those unfamiliar with Knull, he is one of the most important figures in the symbiote mythos. As the god who created the symbiotes, Knull wields immense power and has a deep connection to all symbiotes across the multiverse. His introduction could mark a significant shift in the symbiote lore for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as Knull’s reach is vast, and his abilities are god-like. He’s not just another villain—he is a primal force, and his motivations for controlling the symbiotes are rooted in his desire to plunge the universe into eternal darkness.

The trailer hints that Save the Last Dance will delve deeply into the cosmic side of the symbiote story, something fans have been eagerly awaiting. Knull’s appearance also opens the door for future crossovers and potentially much bigger threats that could potentially impact the MCU, specifically Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Given that symbiotes are aware of each other across the multiverse, Knull’s arrival could spell danger not only for Eddie Brock but for other Marvel heroes as well, maybe even in the upcoming Secret Wars.

To add to this, fans of Spider-Man: No Way Home will remember the tantalizing tease at the end of the movie, where a small piece of Tom Hardy’s/Eddie Brock’s Venom’s symbiote was left behind in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man universe. This moment hinted that Peter Parker may soon encounter a symbiote of his own, which could lead to even more exciting storylines involving the web-slinger. Could Knull’s presence in Venom 3 be a precursor to this long-awaited symbiote-Spider-Man connection? The possibilities are thrilling.

As the alleged final chapter in Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy, Venom: Save the Last Dance seems poised to deliver a grand, explosive conclusion. With Knull’s introduction, new symbiote hosts, and a story that stretches across the multiverse, the film is shaping up to be a landmark moment in the Marvel universe. Fans will undoubtedly be counting down the days to see how Eddie Brock’s story ends—and how the legacy of the symbiotes will continue to evolve.
