Valve Continues to Ban Counter-Strike Pros in Betting Scandal

[dropcap size=small]V[/dropcap]alve announced that an additional 19 professional players of Counter Strike: Global Offensive have been banned from any Valve-sponsored competitions until it completes an investigation involving matches that were potentially fixed and had high value bets associated. Valve has not only banned the players from the competitions but has sent out messages to its partners who put on associated events, instructing them to not let the banned players be associated with the matches or events in any way, shape, or form.

The list of banned Counter Strike professionals includes the following:

  • Kevin “Uzzziii” Vernel
  • Joey “fxy0” Schlosser
  • Robin “GMX” Stahmer
  • Morgan “B1GGY” Madour
  • Damian “DiAMon” Zarski
  • Michal “bCK” Lis
  • Jakub “kub” Pamula
  • Mateusz “matty” Kolodziejczyk
  • Michal “michi” Majkowski
  • Karol “rallen” Rodowicz
  • Mikolaj “mouz” Karolewski
  • Grzegorz “SZPERO” Dziamalek
  • Pawel “innocent” Mocek
  • Jacek “minise” Jeziak

In addition, 4 more players have been banned from competing in the ESL One competition, which has a grand prize cup of $250,000. Valve has said nothing on the investigation other than that it is ongoing and they have not made any permanent decisions. This means all the players who have been banned from professional competitions are banned pending the results of the investigation.
