Tom Holland Confirms Peter Parker Appeared in Iron Man 2

Nice work, kid.

It looks like a long standing theory about the MCU has finally been confirmed, by ace reporter Tom Holland nonetheless.

In an interview with The Huffington Post to promote Spider-Man: Homecoming, Holland revealed that the little kid wearing an Iron Man mask during the Stark Expo scene towards the end of Iron Man 2 is actually a young Peter Parker.

Here’s the clip, if you forgot about Iron Man 2, like I have.

“It is Peter Parker…I can confirm that as of today,” Holland explained. “I literally had a conversation with [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.”

I’m sure it was never the intention back in 2010 for this kiddo to be Peter Parker (Sony still had sole custody of Spidey back then), but everything else checks out. Parker would have been 8ish when the events of Iron Man 2 happened, so this kid is a good match.

If anything, this is a fun little retcon that adds another layer of depth to the Tony Stark-Peter Parker relationship. And it adds value to Iron Man 2. Did you already forget about it again?

And at least Peter Parker wasn’t really that little kid from Iron Man 3.

Remember him?

Didn’t think so.

Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives on July 7.
