Trailers: Dominion, Goosebumps, and The Finest Hours.

Dominion Season 2

In this Syfy original series, which serves as a successor to the 2010 film Legion, the fight between angels and mankind continues. God has been missing for 25 years, and in his absence the archangel Gabriel (Carl Beukes) has declared war on humans. Mankind’s only hope is the leadership of archangel Michael (Tom Wisdom) and the hope of a coming savior. In its sophomore season, Dominion appears to have raised the stakes, while still maintaining the Syfy channel’s signature silliness.

Dominion stars Christopher Egan, Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Luke Allen-Gale, Shivani Ghai, Rosalind Halstead, Antony Head, Alan Dale, and Carl Beaukes. Dominion Season 2 airs Thursdays 10/9c, on Syfy.

Goosebumps

Get ready to feel like your back at your elementary school’s library. Goosebumps, based off the children’s book series by R.L. Stein, stars Dylan Minnette as Zach Cooper, a young man who has recently moved, and his new neighbor is none other than R.L. Stein (played by Jack Black). After accidentally opening up a manuscript to one of Stein’s stories, the monsters from the classic series come to life, and it’s up to Zach and company to put them back. The trailer makes the film appear more wacky and family-friendly then the scary source material, but then again, it has been years since I’ve had nightmares about Monster Blood II.

Goosebumps stars Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Amy Ryan, and Jillian Bell. Written by Darren Lemke, and directed by Rob Letterman. In theaters October 16th.

The Finest Hours

Based off of a real life event in 1952, the film stars Chris Pine as Bernard Webber, who is on a mission to rescue the crews of oil tankers SS Fort Mercer and SS Pendleton, which were both split in two during a storm. Besides the rescue mission, the trailer shows that the film will also focus on the complicated relationship of Webber and his love interest, played by Holliday Grainger. Sporting incredible special effects and a killer east coast accent from Pine, keep an eye on The Finest Hours this winter.

The Finest Hours stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, and Eric Bana. Written by Scott Silver, Paul Tamasy, and Eric Johnson, and directed by Craig Gillespie. In theaters January 29, 2016.
