‘The Tick’ Might Be Making a Comeback

For those of you that may not be familiar with The Tick, it started off as a comic book in the 80’s that spawned a cartoon in the 90’s, which ultimately led to a live-action series starring Patrick Warburton in the early 2000s.

The series followed a group of misfits led by a bright blue superhero named The Tick (Warburton), who possessed the power of super strength and offbeat humor. Sadly, the show was unable to find an audience as quickly as the suits wanted, and was cancelled by Fox after only nine episodes.

Check out the pilot episode as directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (MIB, MIB2, MIB3):

Since the show’s cancellation in 2002, those nine episodes of The Tick have become something of a cult classic through DVD sales and streaming services. Now Amazon wants to bring it back.

Patrick Warburton is rumored to be returning as the title character, and the original creator Ben Edlund is on board as writer and producer. Very exciting news for all The Tick fans.

No other details are available at the moment, but here’s hoping that my favorite character Batmanuel has a planned comeback as well.
