Matt Reeve’s upcoming take on the Dark Knight’s earlier days in the 2022 film ‘The Batman’ is shaping up to be one hell of an experience. After the latest trailer debuted at the DC Fandom event over the weekend, we are more excited than ever to hop in a theater and watch Robert Pattinson try and solve Paul Dano’s cryptic riddles while pummeling nameless thugs into the pavement.
The Batman is set to release on March 4, 2022 and it will be here before you know it (feels like just yesterday was 2019).
The craziest part about this take on the movie is not just how great it looks, nor how stunning the cast lineup is but how it all seems so… perfect? A movie based on Batman’s second year in the cape and cowl doesn’t sound too different from Nolan’s Batman Begins but the gritty noir feel of The Batman just seamlessly checks off all our boxes for some reason. On top of that, without Affleck in sight from any direction, this just feels so much more right for us. Who knows the sparkly Twilight vampire would blossom into such a badass Batman?
Matt Reeves directs with an all-star cast including the likes of Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.
