Anime fans have something to look forward to this fall! HIDIVE has announced that the new romantic comedy anime series, How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer, will debut next season as part of its Fall 2024 simulcast lineup. This fresh and fun series, based on the popular manga by Nana Aokawa, will stream exclusively on AMC Networks’ HIDIVE.
Before the official series launch in October, HIDIVE is treating fans to a special event at Anime NYC 2024. The world premiere of How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer, featuring Episodes 1 and 7, will take place on Sunday, August 25, at the Javits Center. This event offers a unique opportunity for attendees to be among the first to experience this delightful new anime.

How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer follows the story of Tokiwa, a college student invited to a mixer by his classmate Suo. Expecting a regular get-together, Tokiwa and his friends, Asagi and Hagi, are surprised when they meet three strikingly handsome men at the event. The twist? These “men” are actually women in drag, still dressed from their jobs at a butler café that caters to a female clientele. As the group spends time together, unexpected friendships and romances start to blossom in both heartwarming and hilarious ways.
The anime is adapted from a manga series that has grown in popularity since its online debut in March 2020, later becoming serialized in Square Enix’s Gangan Online in February 2021. Fans can also enjoy the English version of the manga, available on Square Enix’s Manga UP! mobile app.
Produced by Ashi Productions, the anime features a talented team, including direction by Kazuomi Koga, writing by Deko Akao, and character design by Yoko Tanabe, who also serves as the chief animation director. The series stars Mikako Komatsu as Suo, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Tokiwa, and Takehito Kajiwara as Hagi.
