(Gasp) What a surprise!Â
It looks like Professor X will indeed be in the third standalone Wolverine film.Â
Sir Patrick Stewart took to Twitter earlier this week to seemingly confirm the long-standing rumor that Charles Xavier will have a prominent role in the upcoming movie.Â

Indeed, this has been a poorly kept secret. As early as last summer, Stewart has been teasing his involvement in the film. Just last week, X-Men series producer Simon Kinberg did the same, as well confirming that production on the film has begun, and that it will be rated R.Â
While this still isn’t necessarily “official” confirmation, but Stewart’s tweet is good enough for us.Â
How will Professor X factor into Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine? Will the film follow the Old Man Logan comic storyline?Â
We still don’t know these answers, but what we’re most excited about is the possibility of Stewart dropping some F-bombs. Take advantage of that R-rating, please!
The film will be directed by The Wolverine helmer James Mangold, and costars Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Eriq Lasalle, and Stephen Merchant.Â
Wolverine 3Â hits theaters on March 3, 2017.Â
