Paramount Pictures strongly supports Tom Cruise’s recent announcement of another Mission Impossible movie.

[toggler title=”TL;DR” ]Paramount Pictures, after their latest film Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation made $121 million internationally, has announced that they are happy to work with actor Tom Cruise on another Mission Impossible movie. “We’re very happy to be developing this movie with Tom,” Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures told Variety. “There’s no question that Ethan Hunt deserves another film.”[/toggler]

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]om Cruise and Paramount Pictures are currently enjoying the success of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and you can’t blame them. The film has made a total of $121 million internationally for its opening weekend, $56 million here in the U.S. and $65 million overseas. With a success like that it makes sense that Paramount Pictures is supporting another Mission Impossible film.

It was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart that Tom Cruise announced that another Mission Impossible film was in the works. He said, “We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer.” Paramount Pictures’ vice chairman Rob Moore responded to Tom Cruise’s statement jubilantly in an interview with Variety by saying, “We’re very happy to be developing this movie with Tom. There’s no question that Ethan Hunt deserves another film.”

Truth be told, it’s a smart move on Paramount Pictures’ part to support another Mission Impossible when you take into account the success of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol grossed over $209 million in North America and over $485 million in other countries, for an international total of $694 million. Right now, it seems like Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation shows no signs of slowing down and the film definitely will continue to keep drawing in more money for Paramount Pictures.
