Producer For Spider-Man: Far From Home Supports a Multiverse Crossover with Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire

Some day, somehow, we could see all three Spider-Men on the same screen. Though it likely won't happen, it is still a possibility in an animated version through a sequel of Into the Spider-Verse.

Back when Into the Spider-Verse came out, fans were hoping there would be a nod to the MCU, or even more, a reference to previous Spider-Man film franchises. Specifically, the Spider-Man fandom wanted to see a nod to Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Holland somehow, if only for a split second. Well, it seems that Sony producer Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Venom, Into the Spider-Verse, Far From Home), supports the fandom and is hopeful they can make something happen someday, possibly.

Speaking to BadTaste.it, Pascal said the following:

Everything is possible. It would be very interesting.

-Amy Pascal

Okay, so she did not say much. But she did make comments regarding Spider-Verse opening the doors to being able to “literally do everything” with “endless possibilities”. Perhaps what’s more interesting, is that current Spider-Man actor Tom Holland expressed a desire to do a crossover with his predecessors in some way as well.

Of course I would love to make a movie with those guys, it would be so cool! It would be amazing, it would be really, really cool. And it’s something that the fans really want

– Tom Holland

The fact is, when the internet makes noise about something they want, the executives in charge hear it, whether they want to or not. Will it happen? Probably wouldn’t recommend holding your breath, since neither Pascal or Tom Holland can make that decision, but maybe someday Kevin Fiege will allow something like this to happen. Of course, Sony owns the rights to Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Men stories, and they have a pretty strong grasp on Holland, despite him being in the MCU.

At this point, I think about the MCU, and how so many people would have said that it would and could never happen. And it did. And it was amazing. Heck, even an animated version of Maguire, Holland, and Garfield joining a Spider-Verse sequel would be amazing, and probably the most likely, if it ever was an option.

Let us not forget that at one point, these three actors were planned to make a brief appearance in Into the Spider-Verse in a brief scene, though the idea was later scrapped due to undisclosed reasons. Whether the actor’s likenesses were to be used, or if they may have had dialogue was never confirmed, but we know that it could happen, it just likely won’t.
