In exciting news for fans of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the development team behind the upcoming game, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, has confirmed that the Green Ranger will be an unlockable character that becomes playable after beating the main story campaign. This announcement was made today by Digital Eclipse over on Twitter (now X), adding a fun twist to the game’s narrative.
We can't keep the secret any longer: The Green Ranger is an unlockable character in #RitasRewind! Tommy's origin story is part of our game's narrative, so once you complete the campaign, you'll be able to select the Green Ranger. Happy National @PowerRangers Day! pic.twitter.com/qQLfNfH9lg

According to the developers, the Green Ranger’s storyline is intricately woven into the game’s plot, promising an engaging experience for players who make it to the end. This confirmation puts to rest a slew of fan speculations that arose following teasers in the game’s trailer. One particular teaser that caught the attention of many was a level with the core Rangers on a roller coaster, with each car colored to match the respective Ranger. Fans immediately noticed a sixth, unoccupied green roller coaster car, which you can see below. Compare this to the image above which shows the Green Ranger riding solo in the same roller coaster level.
The announcement comes as part of a celebration for National Power Rangers Day, a fan holiday officially recognized by Hasbro and Saban in collaboration with the National Day Calendar. The holiday, which falls on August 28th, marks the anniversary of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series premiere back in 1993.
In addition to sharing the Green Ranger as an unlockable and playable character, Digital Eclipse also stated that they have received many requests for a digital copy of the game, specifically today of all days. They mentioned that the choice to make a physical copy is currently being considered but nothing definitive about what they may look like or when that could be released was mentioned.
We are hearing this from a lot of fans today. A physical edition of #RitasRewind is under consideration, but digital will definitely be out this year. But for sure, we see all of you out there raising your hands saying "I want one!" :) https://t.co/1kgJevpYnG pic.twitter.com/OgNQ2LyoxZ

This announcement has undoubtedly heightened anticipation for the game’s release, and fans are eagerly looking forward to reliving their childhood memories with this new addition to the Power Rangers universe.
