During today’s Nintendo Direct event, the gaming juggernaut shared a handful of exciting upcoming releases. Out of all those, one of the most we were excited for was the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, which will come with seven titles, including a rare beat-’em-up game, The Punisher.
Here is what the collection will come with:
- MARVEL SUPER HEROES
- MARVEL SUPER HEROES vs. STREET FIGHTER
- MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 New Age of Heroes
- MARVEL vs. CAPCOM CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
- THE PUNISHER
- X-MEN CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
- X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER
While fans were excited by the announcement of the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection coming to Switch, PS4, and Steam, the announcement was notably missing Xbox as the MvC Fighting collection apparently wont be releasing on the Microsoft console platform at all (at least for the time being). The absence has sparked criticism toward both Capcom and Xbox, with theories suggesting issues with Capcom’s MT Framework Engine on Xbox One.
Despite the Xbox One’s significant user base, the Marvel vs. Capcom collection will exclude it, leaving many fans to speculate and express frustration across social media. The collection promises new features and seems like a great purchase, making its absence on Xbox all the more disappointing, reflecting poorly on both companies for presumably failing to reach an agreement.
No release date was given other than it being some time this year. Regardless, you can wishlist the title on Steam now, by clicking the link below.
