Troubles for Activision’s Highly Anticipated Ports…
If you’re like me then you’re completely bewildered why there aren’t more quality superhero video games. That’s why the announcement of the return of Marvel Ultimate Alliance (MUA) 1 & 2 was exciting. Unfortunately, the ported versions of the games are already available on PS4 and PC, the Xbox One port to come later, and the reaction is decidedly poor.
The re-release has been plagued with bugs like the second game being nearly unplayable due to poor audio. Additionally, there are DLC characters missing from the MUA 1 and both console and PC gamers have complained about the game mechanics. The DLC characters were Xbox exclusives during the game’s initial release years ago but that formality should not have restricted gamers now. Console gamers are also reporting the games have a tough time with the modern controllers while the PC controls are bound to preselected keys.
Activision has now promised to update the MUA 1 to include the DLC characters for free. Also, other crucial fixes should be coming to the PC, like fixing the ingame remapping of the controls. The developer is working hard and hopes to have all the issues for MUA 1 & 2 resolved sometime in the near future. Both games were well-received when initially released so nostalgic gamers likely had high hopes when making the return to these games. Hopefully the developer will have it sorted soon.
