Dragami Games has announced that Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, the eagerly awaited remaster of the iconic 2012 zombie action game, will launch on September 25, 2024. This remaster will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC platforms, offering an enhanced experience for both new and returning players. Take a look at the first trailer below:
The plot sees Juliet Starling fighting off a zombie outbreak at San Romero High School on her 18th birthday. During which, she saves her boyfriend Nick by decapitating him to prevent him from turning into a zombie. Now a talking head, Nick learns that Juliet and her family are zombie hunters. Guided by her tutor Morikawa, Juliet must defeat five intelligent zombies known as the Dark Purveyors. With help from her family, Juliet must overcome the odds and save everyone from being an undead snack. The game concludes with an outcome varying based on the player’s success in saving classmates.
Dragami Games has also shared a range of enhancements that players can expect in Lollipop Chainsaw RePop. The remaster will support 4K resolution at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, while the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch versions will feature 1080p resolution at 30 FPS. Improvements include shorter load times, refined camera and keystroke response, increased attack and movement speeds, and various gameplay upgrades.
Additional features include an “auto rock on” mode for the Chainsaw Blaster, which offers an auto-fire option and increased maximum ammunition count. Combos will now be accessible from the beginning of the game, and there are updates to Nick Roulette and various minigames. Furthermore, an auto-QTE feature is enabled by default, streamlining the gameplay.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePop promises to deliver an enhanced and exhilarating gaming experience, merging the nostalgia of the original with modern improvements. Fans of the series and new players alike can look forward to an exciting adventure when the game launches this September.
