What exactly is a ‘Leviathan’?

The Irish filmmaker known for the short film Blinky released a concept trailer for his latest pet project, a large scale sci-fi adaptation of the classic Herman Melville novel Moby Dick.
While details are sparse, The Leviathan would be a film in which hunters harvest the eggs of a titan-esque animal in order to power interstellar travel. If you want to feel tiny and insignificant, here’s the trailer:
