The next season of Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil could introduce both Bullseye and Elektra!
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]f you’re a major fan of not only the Marvel comics but Daredevil as well, then you likely spotted the two easter eggs referencing Elektra Natchios and Bullseye in the first season.
Whether or not these easter eggs actually mean the two popular characters will be in the second season of Daredevil remains to be seen, but there is solid evidence supporting the idea.
Let’s start off with the possibility of Jason Statham playing Bullseye. Marvel has built itself a reputation of involving popular Hollywood actors, like Samuel L. Jackson and Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica), in its television shows. So could it really be too far-fetched for Jason Statham to appear in Marvel’s most popular television show yet?
The big Bullseye easter egg in Daredevil Season 1
.
Latino Review had this to say about the possibility of everyone’s favorite British bad ass appearing in Daredevil;
“Our spies spotted him meeting with Marvel personnel earlier this week while taking a break from the press tour for Spy.”
They further note that Jason Statham was one of the possible actors that was mentioned in conjunction with a potential movie reboot of Daredevil back before the rights of Daredevil were given to Marvel from Fox. Until Marvel officially announces anything, who will play Bullseye is anyone’s guess.
Now that we’ve gone over Bullseye, let’s turn our attention to Elektra. In the first season of Daredevil, Matt Murdock’s best friend and business partner Foggy made a reference to Elektra. When Foggy is explaining to Karen Page about how lucky Matt was with the ladies in college, he talks about a “smokin” hot Greek girl Matt was dating.
Many fans of the Daredevil comics were quick to pick up on this reference to Elektra Natchios. Sure, this doesn’t sound like enough evidence to support the rumor that Elektra will be in season two of Daredevil. However, audition tapes have been leaked onto the internet and then quickly taken down these past few weeks. Some people have even claimed that at least two of the audition tapes are specifically for Elektra.
Whether or not this is true, it is good to hear that Netflix and Marvel are working on the second season of Daredevil already.
