Anime has done some wild things with the isekai genre—heroes getting reincarnated as vending machines, slime monsters, and even demon lords. But what if instead of you going to another world, that world followed you home? That’s exactly what happens in Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World!, a new reverse isekai rom-com premiering exclusively on HIDIVE this April 6.
Meet Hinata—your typical anime protagonist who got isekai’d, leveled up, and became the hero who took down the Demon Lord. But instead of being stuck in fantasy land, he actually gets to come back home to Earth and live a normal life. Except there’s one small problem: his yandere dark elf companion, Mariabelle, is not letting him go that easily. Instead of saying tearful goodbyes, she follows him back to Earth, sets up shop in his life, and uses her arcane talents to make sure no other girl gets within ten feet of him.
Yeah, this isn’t your average isekai.
The anime adaptation of Yandere Dark Elf is being helmed by Toshikatsu Tokoro, with writing from Yuki Takabayashi and animation from Elias—the same team behind last summer’s cult favorite Plus-Sized Elf (yes, that was a real thing). Expect hilarious misunderstandings, questionable magical interventions, and possibly some “accidental” teleportations of romantic rivals to alternate dimensions.

Minami Takahashi will be voicing Mariabelle, with Rie Kawamura as Hinata and a supporting cast featuring Kyoka Maruyama, Ayumi Mano, and Hinako Takahashi.
Yandere Dark Elf is originally a manga series by Nakanosora, first serialized in Takeshobo’s Web Comic Gamma Plus back in 2021. The English translation is handled by Seven Seas Entertainment, because of course they’re the ones licensing another anime about hot monster girls.
Where Can I Watch This Trainwreck? HIDIVE has snagged exclusive streaming rights, meaning if you want to watch this yandere elf terrorize her beloved on Earth, you better have a HIDIVE subscription. And if this doesn’t sound like your thing, well—let’s be honest, curiosity is going to get the best of you.
Set your calendars for April 6, because this dark elf isn’t taking no for an answer.
